Sinus relief in Fresno, CA
If you’ve had three or more sinus infections this year, or your nose has been congested for more than 12 weeks — you don’t need another round of antibiotics. You need to find out why. Sierra Allergy diagnoses and treats the root cause of chronic sinus problems.
About this service
Stop the antibiotic cycle
Most chronic sinusitis isn’t bacterial — it’s inflammation, usually driven by allergy, structural issues, or both. Treating it with repeat antibiotics rarely solves the problem and often makes things worse. The first step is a proper diagnostic workup.

Diagnosis first
A proper sinus workup
We perform endoscopic nasal exam, allergy testing, and (when indicated) review of CT imaging in your first visit. This determines whether your sinus problems are driven by allergic inflammation, nasal polyps, structural obstruction, or a combination.
Many patients leave their first visit with answers they have not received in years of primary-care antibiotic prescriptions.
Targeted treatment
Medical first, surgical only when necessary
We use intranasal steroids, saline irrigation protocols, biologic medications for nasal polyposis (Dupixent, Xolair, Nucala, Tezspire), and allergy immunotherapy. The vast majority of our chronic sinusitis patients improve dramatically without surgery.
When surgery is needed, we coordinate with our ENT colleagues — and then continue medical management to prevent recurrence.

Daily relief
Living without the pressure
Pressure across the cheekbones, post-nasal drip, dental aches that aren’t dental, anosmia (loss of smell), fatigue that no one connects to your sinuses. These symptoms add up to a major impact on daily life — and most of them are treatable. We will tell you, honestly, what improvement looks like for your specific case.

FAQs
Frequently Asked Questions
When should I see a specialist for sinus problems?
If you’ve had three or more sinus infections in 12 months, congestion lasting more than 12 weeks, recurrent post-nasal drip, or loss of smell — see a specialist. These patterns rarely respond to repeat antibiotic courses alone.
Will I need surgery?
Most chronic sinusitis patients do not need surgery if they are diagnosed and treated properly with medical therapy. Surgery is reserved for structural problems or polyps that don’t respond to medical management.
Are biologic medications used for sinus problems?
Yes. Several biologics (Dupixent, Xolair, Nucala, Tezspire) are FDA-approved for chronic rhinosinusitis with nasal polyps. They’ve transformed care for patients who previously needed repeat surgery.
Could my sinus problems be caused by allergies?
Very often, yes. Treating the underlying allergy with immunotherapy frequently resolves chronic sinus problems that haven’t responded to other treatments.
How quickly will I get better?
Most patients notice improvement within four to eight weeks of starting the right treatment. For nasal polyps, biologic medications often shrink the polyps measurably within 12 weeks.
